'Yathra' is a hand-woven fabric made from wool of yak and sheep. Since Bumthang is a cold place it is known for woolen clothes, bags, scarfs etc. Bumthang has two Yathra Factories in Chummey Geog. They have different weavers for specific item. Yathras are made in different colours so that they look special and attractive. The cost of each item depends on the quality of wool. It is said that the items made from sheep’s wool is more expensive than other type. People from all parts of the world are really interested in yathra because of its uniqueness.
